Graduated in 1974 from the artistic-graphics department of the Abai Pedagogical Institute in Almaty. A member of the USSR Union of Artists since 1978. Recognized as an outstanding Painter of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Ilkham Prize winner.

Participated in the Asia-Art Exhibition, Tashkent (Golden Medal). Works in painting, graphics, decorative and applied art (tapestry), photo art and video art. In 1990 completed the post-graduate courses of the Oriental Studies Institute at Sciences Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Organized numerous personal exhibitions, the most significant of them are were held in Turkey (Аnkara, 1993), Italy (Genoa, 1997), and the USA (Washington, 1998). Akhat’s paintings were bought by A. Kasteev State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstan Ministry of Culture, the State Museum of Arts of the Peoples of the East (Moscow), N. Nazarbayev’s Presidential Residence “Akorda” (Astana) and acquired in private collections in Germany, Italy, Turkey, the USA, China and other countries.

In 2009 experts of Christie’s selected paintings by Akhat for sale at auction of Kazakhstani artists.

Родился 04.04.1954 году в городе Кульджа. В 1974 году окончил художественно-графический факультет Алматинского педагогического института им. Абая. Член Союза художников РК с 1988 г. Заслуженный деятель Республики Казахстан. Лауреат премии «Ильхам».

Участник выставки «Азия Арт» г. Ташкент – золотая медаль. Работает в живописи, графике, декоративно-прикладном искусстве (гобелен), фотоарте и видеоарте. В 1990 г. закончил аспирантуру при Институте Востоковедения Академии Наук РК.

Имеет большое количество персональных выставок, среди которых наиболее важные: в Турции (Анкара – 1993 г.), Италии (Генуя – 1997 г.), США (Вашингтон – 1998 г.). Работы находятся в Государственном музее искусств им. Кастеева, Дирекции художественных выставок Министерства культуры РК (г. Алматы), Государственном
музее искусств народов Востока (г. Москва), в резиденции «Аккорда» Президента РК Н.А. Назарбаева (г. Астана), а также в частных коллекциях Германии, Италии, Турции, США, Китая и др.
